St. Francis Hospital

October 2024

Created to commemorate the centennial of Saint Francis Hospital, Healthy Village is a large-scale mural celebrating the hospital’s deep connection to the surrounding community. Situated in the main lobby, the mural presents a vibrant panorama of Wilmington’s West Side, where families walk, bike, and gather across a symbolic crosswalk anchored by the hospital itself.

The composition blends historical reference and present-day life, showing the hospital not only as a center of care but as a cornerstone of a thriving neighborhood. The inclusion of a bronze statue of Saint Francis in front of the mural invites reflection on the hospital’s legacy of healing, compassion, and community service.

Painted in collaboration with artists Cony Madariaga and Erica Jones, the mural embodies the spirit of collective care—reflecting the vision of a “healthy village” where wellness extends beyond hospital walls and into the heart of the community.

Woodlawn Park -

Basketball Court

July 2020

This vibrant court mural transforms the surface of Woodlawn Park’s basketball court into a dynamic, colorful composition that celebrates movement, play, and community. Using bold geometric shapes and high-contrast color fields, the design activates the space with energy and rhythm—turning a recreational surface into a work of public art.

Commissioned by Woodlawn Trustees and created in partnership with Smashed Label, this project brings together art and athletics in a way that inspires creativity, wellness, and neighborhood pride.
